In the context of the research-project „Professional strategies and passage to adulthood of youth with migration background in Germany and France”, the Centre Marc Bloch, a Franco-German institute in social sciences, (in cooperation with the SOEP at the DIW-Berlin, funded by ANR-DFG) invites applications to the post of a Postdoctoral research fellow,
starting preferably in March 2008 (remuneration according to CNRS). The duration of the post is initially limited to one year, with a possible extension of the contract, up to two years.

Qualifications:
- Very good Ph.D. preferably in social sciences/sociology or a project-related discipline
- Well-founded experiences in qualitative research
- Good knowledge of the sociology of migration and/or urban sociology, possibly also knowledge of the sociology of stratification and inequalities
- Good knowledge of German, French and English. Also, knowledge of Russian or Turkish would be very much appreciated.

Responsibilities:
Cooperation (regarding conception, content and organization) within the research-project (among other things: conduction of qualitative interviews with experts and with young people with migration background, keeping track of international research literature, expeditions to Paris, preparation of reports, publications and presentations). We offer an opportunity for
independent research in an interesting project within an international framework.

The interviews will probably take place the week of 18th to 22nd of February. Application expenses cannot be reimbursed.
