Немного про хостелы - правда, это из лондонской конференции. Надеюсь, мне простят цитирование без перевода - ради всеобщей пользы.

May this year I'll be visiting London. I've found some
hostels through the internet, but how do I know which ones are trustworthy.
Is there a guide or anything like that?

I've found 2 hostels which over en suite facilities:
Bayswater International Youth House
and London House Hotel

Has anyone ever been to either and what were their thoughts about the
hostel??

did you check the international youth hostel association website? I would trust those more than anything really. While I was in London, I stayed at
Rotherhide, Kings Cross and Earl's Court. Some people there got their stuffed ripped off at Earl's Court.
There was a bomb set to go off about a block away
from the hostel at King's Cross they had to defuse... it's pretty seedy there.
Lots of hookers and junkies. Rotherhide is about a 45 minute tube ride to the West End, but it was the best. Kind of a pain if you want to go out partying
but don't wanna pay for a cab back out to there.

It's kind of a gamble in any hostel (at least any I've been in). Just make sure you have a sturdy lock to stash your stuff in your locker, use common sense and
you should be okay!

Anyways, that's just my experience. After those places, I was lucky enough to meet and stay with my future husband Hope this helps...probably not, but
there it is.
