Post-doc Content-based image retrieval, in Cergy near Paris, for a young researcher having never worked in France

We wish to recruit a post-doctoral scientist to join our team of image processing in ETIS, CNRS 8051, located in Cergy-Pontoise near Paris, France.
We have already developed a complete system of content-based image retrieval, called RETIN. We want to improve it by adding new features, by using multiscale segmentation, by trying to classify the basis into semantic classes in order to accelerate the on-line search, etc.

Conditions are : under 35, having never worked in France and belonging to one of the following countries :Australie, Canada, Corée, USA , Hongrie, Japon, Mexique, Nouvelle-Zélande, Norvège, Pologne, République Tchèque, Slovaquie, Suisse, Turquie and also Afrique du Sud, Argentine, Brésil, Chili, Chine, Israël, Inde, Roumanie, Russie. Essential qualities are : a recent PhD thesis in CBIR or in machine learning a background in machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition or image processing; experience in computer programming and an aptitude for problem solving; the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and in a code-sharing environment.

The post will be remunerated 1832 euros a month, for a duration of one year.
